New York and New Jersey Bird watching
Guide for hire.
Here's what our clients have to say:
A huge thank you for your wonderful and enthusiastic guiding which both Sam and I enjoyed greatly. We set you quite a challenge keeping the interest of a 6 year old and you rose to it superbly - thank you so much. No doubt I will be coming through town again in the next year or two on business if nothing else and I will look you up for a trip to Jamaica Bay.
All the very best

"Bill is very knowledgeable about US birds and knows precisely where to find different types of bird species: more importantly he is great at spotting them once they arrive in the location!
A great guy to get along with, good company, hugely reliable and brilliant at what he does ... finding birds."
David, London, UK
I still can't believe the day we had. You chose a great spot, and made 5/16/10 my best best birding day ever. I think I'll be dreaming about warblers tonight.
Thank you so much! It was quite a wonderful experience for me--I may well have to get myself a pair of real binoculars now! At very short notice, Bill was able to take me out into the forests and locate pretty much all of the birds I wanted to see as well as pulling out a couple of surprises, such as the singing male Cerulean Warbler he managed to locate from considerable distance or the close encounter with a black bear! His knowledge of what to find where is astounding, to the point that we would pull up at a location and immediately see the target species or hear it singing. All in all, a good day's birding with a knowledgeable and friendly local and money well spent as I would never have been able to locate or even get to most of the birds without his help. Stephen Boddington, Belgium I was a little apprehensive as being a woman on my own in NY city attempting to bird a strange place and so contacted Bill through his web site to arrange a bird walk in Central Park. He met me in the lobby of the hotel as meticulously arranged and we took a cab to Central Park and were soon birding the best spots. I felt perfectly at ease with Bill as he showed me some of the tourist spots and the less attractive areas to avoid within the park. I had a very enjoyable morning birding adventure and highly recommend him as both professional and friendly knowledgeable bird guide. Martha A Louisiana We had a very enjoyable morning experience with Bill on beautiful Garret Mountain. Bill was interested in showing us the target birds that we had expressed interest in seeing and he delivered. We added five new lifers to our list and had a very pleasant morning. The warblers were singing and Bill took all the time required to share his knowledge about bird songs and to locate the difficult to see birds. We look forward to traveling again to New Jersey to bird in the future.

Texas,
I had a wonderful time this morning, and was delighted by the range of warblers, thrushes and flycatchers we saw. You are a terrific, patient teacher and guide. And what a brilliant idea for a Mother's Day present on my family's part!
Thank you again for showing me all of the great places in Garrett Mountain.

I have birded with Bill on a number of occasions in a variety of habitats. No matter what type of environment we're in, Bill has very discerning eyes and ears. Bill's extensive experience studying & banding birds, coupled with his love for his subjects, makes him a real pleasure to be afield with! Bill is the most gifted bird guide I have encountered. I am amazed at his knowledge of birds and their behavior, specifically his ability to discover the presence of a particular bird just by ear. He has helped me tremendously with identifying distinguishing field marks and has an uncanny ability to find lifers. His knowledge of NJ birding hot spots is most impressive--nobody knows Garrett Mountain better--and he also has a fantastic sense of humor. Quite simply, he is the best.
Happy Birding,

“Bill enabled me to experience the world outside our windows. His knowledge and experience shaped my understanding of not only what is flying around the backyard, but what is actually migrating across the country. I give him 5 stars on his guidance.” ~ Ray Guidetti
